With the success of the reading group last semester, FAU SIAM (Society for Industry and Applied Mathematics) Student Chapter is delighted to announce that we are hosting a reading group again this semester. The group’s mission is to advance undergraduate and graduate students' interdisciplinary collaborations across the STEM fields. This time we will not only focus on the theoretical side of topics at the intersection of Biology, Mathematics, and Computer Science, but also, we will try to be more hands-on by exploring how to utilize those ideas to tackle simulated/real data. If you are interested in bio-math, machine learning, and/or data mining, please join us for our first meeting on March 18. Florida Atlantic University Libraries, Special Collections is displaying Americans at War: WWII and the Holocaust. When war was declared in 1941, sixteen million Americans responded to Uncle Sam’s call and served in the U.S. Army, Navy, Marines, and Army Air Forces. From pre-war antisemitism to the surrender of the Axis Powers, this exhibition will narrate the war and devastation through photographs, letters, war documents, and ephemera.The exhibition will be open from 10 am to 2 pm on Tuesdays to Thursdays.The exhibition run dates Tuesday, March 5 – Thursday, April 25
