Student Talon Awards – Open Submission for Nominations
Homecoming Week 2024 will be held Oct. 25 – Nov. 1. As the week rapidly approaches, the Homecoming Committee wants to extend an opportunity to recognize exceptional student leaders within the Florida Atlantic community. The Student Talon Award, bestowed annually at the Homecoming Talon Awards Reception, is given to a student who exemplifies exceptional leadership and service to the University.
A selection committee inclusive of faculty, staff, students, and alumni will evaluate nominees within a broad framework of leadership, looking specifically at contributions to the FAU community. Any Florida Atlantic University student in good academic and social standing with the University, has a minimum of a 3.2 cumulative GPA, and has completed community service hours (40 undergraduate/ 20 graduate) is eligible to receive this award.
Nominators can be anyone from the Florida Atlantic community, including students and self-nominations. The nominator must have the following at the time of submission:
- Nominee’s Name and FAU Email
- Letter of Recommendation from a FAU professional
- An Impact Statement from Nominee (no more than 750 words)
- Brief Bio of the Nominee (no more than 250 words)
- Nominee’s professional photo

The winner of the Student Talon Award will be announced at the Talon Awards Reception on Wednesday, October 30 at 6:00 p.m. in the Florida Atlantic University Recreation & Fitness Center, MAC Gym on the Boca Raton Campus.
