Paradise Pod Debuts to Preview Saturday's Shula Bowl
BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic has unveiled the first episode of the Paradise Podcast, the newest media offering from the Florida Atlantic Sports Network to deliver interviews, news and updates from around the Department of Athletics.
Hosted by Voice of the Owls Ken LaVicka and former men's basketball player Damon Arnette, the debut episode gets you set for the 22nd all-time football meeting between Florida Atlantic and FIU. The Owls lead the series 16-4 and have held the Shula Bowl Trophy every year since 2017 – a six-game winning streak in the series.
Vice President and Director of Athletics Brian White, whose contract extension through 2029 was announced last week, stops by the Pod to talk about the start of fall sports on campus and his outlook for the season. LaVicka is also joined by men's soccer goal-scoring sensation Mamadou Diarra for an engaging interview with the senior.
The episode also includes LaVicka and Arnette discussing the history of the Shula Bowl and the impact of the rivalry across all sports at FAU. Finally, Arnette gets the vibe in the Willow & Palm Construction VIP Lounge at FAU Stadium during last Saturday's football game versus Army.
This episode's sponsor spotlight is Rock & Roll Tequila and a chat with Ower/CEO Chris Ferrone.
Debuting in September 2024, the Paradise Podcast is the latest multimedia offering from Florida Atlantic Athletics and hosted by Ken LaVicka and Damon Arnette. The audio and video episodes can be found FAUSports.com.
