The Runway at Florida Atlantic recently accepted 17 companies to participate in the 15th cohort of its Venture Program.

The Venture Program provides the most promising startups and talented entrepreneurs in South Florida with an opportunity to join a year-long program that offers resources from FAU’s Innovation and Business Development pipeline, entrepreneurial instruction, structured team-based mentoring, networking, marketing and capital-raising assistance, co-working space, events, intern support and other vital programs.

“The Runway at Florida Atlantic exists to support founders like these – driven, creative and ready to make an impact,” said Jessica Beaver, associate director of The Runway. “We’re thrilled to welcome this outstanding group of entrepreneurs into our program and broader innovation ecosystem.”

Companies accepted into the Venture Program must have strategic alignment with FAU’s research focus areas, including drone technologies; educational technologies; environmental science; marine science; ocean engineering; neuroscience; healthy aging; big data analytics; artificial intelligence; machine learning; cyber security; sensing; and smart systems.

The 17 companies in Venture Class 15 are:

  • Aurora Informatics is an AI/ML (Machine Learning) and Blockchain-related tech company.
  • Barkera Corp. is a tech-driven platform connecting experts to help pet owners improve proactive, preventative care. It offers resources and tools to enhance pet care, empowering owners to make informed decisions for happier, healthier pets.
  • Chum Bomb is a patent-pending innovation, a form of sand-balling, that improves the efficiency of chumming. Sand-balling is the practice of clumping together fish-attracting materials with sand to make it sink to the bottom.
  • Corporate Aircraft Team, LLC DBA CAT JETS is an aviation jet broker business that is focused on enabling sellers and buyers to quickly collaborate to identify a fit in products and services, leveraging advanced technologies.
  • FireCodes AI LLC is an AI-powered platform that delivers instant, code-referenced answers to fire protection questions, helping engineers and consultants save time, reduce errors and simplify compliance.
  • Hinge AI LLC designs AI-powered automation solutions for SMBs, streamlining workflows, enhancing customer engagement and reducing costs. It helps businesses overcome challenges and scale efficiently with systems tailored to unlock growth potential.
  • Irreverent Shoes is a fabulous new way to use and enjoy shoes. Its revolutionary system allows users to create hundreds of shoe combinations in seconds, and its products are made in the USA from ocean debris.
  • JobCommander, Inc. revolutionizes hiring with AI-driven workplace compatibility assessments. It prioritizes transparency and compatibility to tackle recruitment challenges and modernize outdated practices.
  • Kidwell is a child wellness app empowering parents with tools for mental, physical and emotional health, featuring expert advice, community support and resources for kids up to 12 years of age, all in one user-friendly platform.
  • PFM Innovations LLC is a tech start-up focusing on computer vision and machine learning for security and defense applications.
  • Refactor Video LLC is a video agency that is prototyping a content creation tool to help IT consulting marketers create impactful video content and position company employees as industry thought leaders on social media.
  • RoboTube LLC is a robotic endotracheal tube designed to make life saving airway intubation more accessible by lowering the required skill level. RoboTube is portable, disposable and has the potential to leverage AI to intubate autonomously.
  • Suction Stow LLC sells a holder for airway adjuncts for pre-hospital and hospital settings. This holder is simple, inexpensive and convenient to hold suction catheters near or even on the patient.
  • Technology Centric Solutions LLC (Aldental) recognizes that oral health greatly impacts life expectancy. The Aldental project is an initiative aimed at making intraoral scanning more affordable and accessible, thereby revolutionizing dental care through high-quality 3D teeth models.
  • Walky is the first social health platform designed exclusively for college students. The app is a low-pressure way for students to meet and make friends on campus by going for walks, grabbing food and studying together in real life.
  • WTRway World Inc. is an on-demand boating platform offering affordable and seamless AI-powered booking for captains and boats, enabling memorable outings, reliable crew connections, and innovative maritime solutions.
  • Zera Techbridge LLC is a trusted marketplace and agent that empowers veterans, students and institutions by bridging education, technology and workforce development through certifications, curriculum ratings and a talent transfer portal for career readiness.

Venture Class 15 participants join a robust community of fellow entrepreneurs, mentors, investors, instructors and top-level support professionals.

The Runway at Florida Atlantic is a public-private partnership formed to incubate and accelerate early-stage technology-based companies, under the purview of FAU’s Division of Research . Applications for the next cycle of the Venture Program will open in July.
