FAU Foundation Raises $72M in 2025 Fiscal Year
The Florida Atlantic University Foundation (FAUF) raised more than $72.5 million from nearly 11,000 donors at the end of the 2025 fiscal year – the second largest amount raised in the university’s history.
The Florida Atlantic University Foundation (FAUF) raised more than $72.5 million from nearly 11,000 donors at the end of the 2025 fiscal year – the second largest amount raised in the university’s history. This total is exceeded only by the 2022 fiscal year, which raised more than $81.24 million.
“The scholarships, enhanced programs and research made possible by our donors’ support have helped Florida Atlantic rise to become nationally recognized as an R1 top-tier research university. They also are among the reasons we will welcome the largest and most academically competitive incoming class in university history this fall,” said FAU President Adam Hasner. “The incredible opportunities created by our donors benefit not only our students but our entire community, which has generously supported the university throughout its history.”
During this fundraising period, FAU received several significant gifts, including $6 million from the late Bernie Marcus and The Marcus Foundation to expand the Marcus Institute of Integrative Health; $2.6 million from Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach to expand Hillel on FAU’s Boca Raton campus; $1 million from an anonymous donor to create a student internship program in the nation’s capital and establish the president’s fund; a significant gift from Wayne and Lucretia Weiner to establish the School of Environmental, Coastal, and Ocean Sustainability; and a significant gift from Michelle and Michael Haggerty to further support the Owls’ Hagerty Athletics Village.
“This is a remarkable accomplishment for Florida Atlantic and a reflection of the dedication shown to the university by our generous donors,” said David Kian, interim CEO of the FAUF. “This continues a sharp trajectory of growth and achievement made possible only through their support.”
FAU, established in 1961, officially opened its doors in 1964 as the fifth public university in Florida. Today, FAU serves more than 30,000 undergraduate and graduate students across six campuses along the Southeast Florida coast. In recent years, the university has doubled its research expenditures and outpaced its peers in student achievement rates. Through the coexistence of access and excellence, FAU embodies an innovative model where traditional achievement gaps vanish. FAU is also designated as a Hispanic-serving institution, ranked as a top public university by U.S. News & World Report, and holds the designation of “R1: Very High Research Spending and Doctorate Production” by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. FAU shares this status with less than 5% of the nearly 4,000 universities in the United States.
“Thank you, once again, to our donors for their generous support of our students, faculty and programs,” said Brian Poulin, FAUF board chair. “This is a testament to their belief in our mission of academic excellence, innovative research, and community engagement.”
As a result of this generosity, “Transcend Tomorrow: The Campaign for Florida Atlantic University” reached $590 million, placing the university at more than 98% of its $600 million goal.
“We are excited to be so close to this tremendous milestone,” said David Green, interim vice president for institutional advancement. “Transcend Tomorrow’s focus on scholarships and student success, the environment, and health-related initiatives ensures that Florida Atlantic will be creating positive change that benefits us for generations to come.”
